Well that was a non intentional hiatus

Hi everyone,

I’m back… well sort off. I’ve been having trouble with my website and they took it offline and I couldn’t log in from my ip-address and well, lots and lots of technical stuff. Once that was sorted life’s been a real roller-coaster with some really great ups (lots of babies for my friends) and some really tragic moments as well. Another thing is I’ve started my own business and I got a steady job to go with that, so as you can imagine, time’s a precious thing and like gollum I’m getting really protective. But I have been missing doing makeup for the blog, so I thought I’d just try my best, make no promises of any kind, but just see how much time I actually have to give.

So to start this I have two “quick” looks for you today.

One makeup look that is a grey/blue smokey that is great for fall and one blue eyeliner party type of look that is really easy and quick and fun.

Blue Grey Smokey Eye on me
This look was created using

eyeshadows from all the Urban Decay Book of Shadows palettes I have. I just wanted certain colours and I happen to have them, so please don’t try and find the exact colour, get a colour similar. I took a quick picture of every colour with my phone, so you should be able to find dupes where you live and from a brand you like. Colours I used from UD Book of Shadows palettesI just happened to use all UD colours, you can always use several brands so it’s just to give you inspiration and idea’s.
I started with my Elizabeth Arden – Visible Difference Moisturizer and then the Urban Decay – Complexion Primer Potion (pore perfecting). As a foundation I used my Make Up For Ever – HD Foundation and my Smashbox Concealer Stick (no longer sold) hid some dark circles under my eyes. I set everything with Laura Mercier – Loose Setting Powder.
For my eyes I did really use a lot of colours, I wanted something that looked colourful but wearable and that could last for a long time on my eyes, so I started with the Urban Decay – 24/7 Glide-On Eyeliner Pencils in Yeyo (inner eye corner), Gunmetal (top lid up to the crease blending it out with my finger), Electric (inner corner lower lashline and waterline), and Covet (outer corner lower lashline and blended these last two together with my finger). I used eyeliner pencils as a base because these are waterproof and enhance the colours I was planning on using on top.
On top I used all Urban Decay Eyeshadows, some were limited edition, some are still available. Shattered from the Book of Shadows 1, on the lower lashline (the fact that you have two differen eyeliner colours underneath give it a subtle change in colour that’s very pretty), I then took Mushroom from the Book of Shadows 2 on the crease and blended that up to make my eyes look more awake and a little bigger. Next I used Uzi from the New York Book of Shadows on the inner eyecorner and a little on the inside of the top lid. I blended White Rabbit (Polyester Bride) into this which is from the Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows and is a little warmer then Uzi and has a more microglitter. I used Vorpal (also from the Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows) on the outer corner of the lower lashline to make it blend with the top of the eye. I used Gunmetal (Book of Shadows 4) on the top outer corner and blended that out into the crease and faded the colour into White Rabbit and Vorpal, really pulling the eyelook together. I then used Crystal to blend Uzi and Shattered more seamlessly on the lower inner corner.
As a mascara I used Pupa Milano’s Vamp! mascara in black. On my lips I’m wearing Dior – Rouge Dior Crème de Gloss in 441.

Nic is wearing L’Oreal Nude Magique Foundation, a little Rimmel Erase Concealer and Essence Blue Eyeliner that I applied not like a cat eye but more like an artsy eye. I used a Golden Rose mascara in Black on her lashes and her own eyebrow pencil to fill in her brows. On her lips is a clear gloss and I kept her hair fun and looking like she just partied all night.
